BOB, JASON, AND LARRY, OH MY!

I CAN’T STAND IT!  NO, REALLY!  I CAN’T STAND IT!  This is the week to end all weeks!  I have died and gone to Heaven, The Elysian Fields, Nirvana, Paradise, and Naked Eden!  And all of this bliss is taking place within the confines of the Outlook.  This week!

BOB’S HERE!  And so is Jason, Weed, Shawn, and Ed (Ed is the new drummer, and he’s really cute)!  We hung out last night.  Ok, so here’s what happened.  My other Broad, Ms. Jill Watkins, and I hit the Outlook about 5:00 to get some “Broads on Blues” work done.  As we entered, I had a double-take, seeing Buck Weed coming out of the bar.  Ok, probably not the best thing to scream “WEED!” at the top of my lungs in a busy hotel lobby, but let’s be candid, this is Boulder

Anyhoo, Jill and I were taking Vanessa and JVonD, our sound guy (who keeps ending up on the front page of the paper, naked and on a bicycle), over to CCTV54 for a geeky tech meeting at 7:30, so we had a little time to spend with Weed, Shawn, and Jason and catch up a bit before taking off for Louisville.  The guys are great, and I simply love and adore them (Jason’s blond again, sigh).  Then, after our tech meeting (which for me consisted of sounds that I assume were words, but meant nothing), we headed back to the Outlook to continue the reunion (except for the smarter Broad; Jill went home).  Too much fun to be had with these guys.  That’s also when I met Ed and got to get to know him a bit.

So, a little tired this morning, but with what we’ve got coming tonight, I’m still a container of energy and excitement.  BOB’S HERE!  He and Al Chesis take the stage at 7:30 tonight for a duo you will never forget.  And get ready for some breathtaking stories from Bob; his are limitless, fascinating, and often riotous.  Can’t wait!  BOB’S HERE!

Then there’s tomorrow night.  Jason Ricci and New Blood!  I CAN’T STAND IT!  I must have been very, very good in a former life to get a week like this.  You all too.  Again, the boys take the stage at 7:30, but for those of you in the know, come early if you want a seat.  I’ll be there around dawn.  If I even bother to leave after Bob’s gig tonight.  BOB’S HERE!

Then on Friday night, we have Larry Garner!  I’ve not seen him live before, but all and sundry have informed me that I will be a very happy Blues Broad after listening to him tear it up.  How he came back to music after a 9 – 5-type hiatus is a fun read.  Find out for yourselves:  http://www.larrygarner.net/01_bluesman/bluesman.php

And as if all that weren’t enough, TEMPA’S BACK!!!!  Tempa and the Tantrums are back this Saturday night at 8:00.  We’ve missed you, Tempa!  She’s my other favorite redhead with a voice.  Come out in big-ass numbers to let her know how much we’ve missed her, how much we love her, and how happy we are to have our girl return to the stage where she belongs.

Then, if you dare, check out July…http://boulderoutlook.com/musiccalendar.html

I know this is a little light this week, but BOB’S HERE! AND JASON RICCI AND NEW BLOOD!  Can’t write, can’t think, can’t eat…ok, wait a minute, I can always eat, but barely!

See you tonight.  YAY!

Honey Bee Sepeda

MEMO TO DAN

Dear Dan:

First of all, BOB’S HERE!  Secondly, you were too busy (or whatever) to answer my memo last week, but my royal ass is still waiting for a chair to suit my stature.  You need to step up and recognize!

Impatiently yours,

Honey Bee

Dear Honey:

I'll get right on this.  But with four days of Bob, Jason, Larry and then Tempa I guess I have a little time.  You probably won't be sitting down much!

Yours,
Dan
